A Scarlet Dress for Scarlett - Free Pattern

Scarlett's Dress

The other day on a facebook page someone shared a link to a dress pattern.
It was the Scarlet dress by Made by Oranges

I was instantly taken by the cute, simple, girly look to this dress
and with winter now here in Australia, I love the longer sleeve option.

You can just make out from these photos
that the dress has princess seams,
so pretty x

Super excited about going to the park!

The best thing about this pattern is that it is FREE!
Oh and it is also available to download in
English, Dutch, German and French :)

The length is slightly on the short side,
especially when hanging off the monkey bars,
but nothing a pair of stockings can't hide.

The dress has a zip closure at the back.
I made the size 104 which is suitable for 4-5 years.
It is a great fit for my 4 year old daughter.

I picked the fabric up from the Salvos (thrift shop)
for only $1 and the zip was from my stash,
which make for an extremely cheap, adorable dress!!

Uptown Girl Jacket

This is my daughter's new winter jacket.

I used the Uptown Girl Pattern  by Make It Perfect
I have used this pattern many times before and it is my
go-to pattern for the perfect winter coat.

I let my daughter choose her own fabric.
I think she did a good job for a 4 year old :)
I used calico for the lining and
some vintage piping I had in my stash.

You can add a pellon layer to the inside of the jacket for extra warmth
but this time I decided to add 2 layers, one to the main fabric
and 1 to the lining. This created a super warm jacket, perfect for a chilly winter.

I decided to add some pockets to the side seam,
something I haven't done before with this jacket.
I am pleased it turned out just fine :)

Endless Summer Tunic/Dress - Pattern Test

* I just found this post in my draft folder.
I am not sure why I never finished it.

We are in winter now and these photos
make me long for the warm sun again.

Many months ago I was lucky enough
to test this cute pattern.

by RabbitRabbitCreation

This is such a great dress pattern.
It is a very quick sew and can be made as a casual dress to throw over bathers
or in fancier fabric to dress it up a little.

It is a very simple sew which would be ideal for a beginner.
It only has 2 pattern pieces plus some binding.

I know when the weather warms up again
I will be surely making more of these dresses.
